About the President

...I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

Charmaine M. Smith, is President and CEO of EMERGE, LLC a personal and relationship development company committed to equipping and empowering individuals through their own choices to live fuller, more productive lives, particularly in the area of relationships.

Passionate about the SELF improvement, SELF renewal and SELF discovery of women, Charmaine conducts personal and relationship development seminars for women and unapologetically engages a combination of transparency and straight talk about overcoming domestic violence in efforts to ignite women to break free of self defeating behaviors, habits and relationships. Charmaine's motto is, “The moment you settle for less than you deserve, you will get even less than you settled for”. In continued efforts to inspire women to seek a higher level of self satisfaction and create positive change in every area of their lives, Charmaine recently produced an inspirational, spoken word CD for women entitled, “ EMERGE”. CD will be release December 2008.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Ms. Smith also earned a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and is an approved Marriage Enrichment facilitator by Family Dynamics, PREP and Life Innovations. As a psychotherapist with proven experience working with at-risk adolescent males and their families, Charmaine is highly in demand as she evokes a unique blend of sensitivity, insight and depth with the capacity to engage her clients in solution-focused, strengths-based, results-oriented therapeutic services.

Born and raised in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Ms. Smith is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Kentucky Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Phi Kappa Phi, the National Association of Female Executives (Women on the GO Network) and the Professional Woman Network (PWN).
